Making fitness a habit
A friend of mine introduced me to yoga and I got hooked. I have been practicing Vinyasa for 2 years now! I figured I should share whatever I know and love about yoga with the world.
There is a popular misconception that yoga is not an intense enough workout. I can tell you it is completely untrue. Yoga can be both relaxing and intense..it depends on the type of yoga you choose.
The two types of yoga I am familiar with are Hatha and Vinyasa. Hatha is more focused on stretching the body, breathing and relaxation. Vinyasa consists of a series of poses that are designed to strength the body, promote flexibility and improve balance all the while focusing on breath (sun salutations etc). Personally, the hardest part for me is not getting into the pose but holding it. Holding poses can be pretty intense but that's what helps build the strength.
As a friend of mine says..the best part of yoga is that there's always room for learning and improvement, always that one pose that you cannot quite master.
If you are looking for yoga classes in the Hunt Valley MD area, I highly recommend Chatlie Yoga @ Merritt Athletic, Towson MD and Paula's Power Yoga @ EP Fitness, Hunt Valley MD. Read my review of EP Fitness on Yelp here.

First Post
I have been thinking about starting to write a blog for a little while now. This is my second attempt in about 5 years (I deleted my first blog after a few months as I had no idea what to write about). Hopefully this time around I will have much more to say!
I heard a saying once that said 'A boat will be perfectly safe in a harbor but that's not what boats are made for'. I believe life is about constantly pushing one self out of their comfort zone, traveling to new places, meeting new people and essentially finding joy in everyday life.
I hope this blog will motivate me and inspire whoever reads my blog to do the same.
Good Night!
